Our Policies and Procedures
Borgess Spine’s policies and procedures include:

Hours—Our physician hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Our physical therapy hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Appointments—On your first visit, please arrive at Borgess Spine at least fifteen minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This will help us facilitate the completion of any necessary paperwork. If you are here for a physical therapy appointment, wear loose fitting and flexible clothing.

Referrals—Depending on your insurance carrier, you may have to receive a physician referral before you’re seen by one of our specialists. If your health insurance company requires a physician referral, please remember that it is your responsibility to provide Borgess Spine with the necessary information and documents at your first appointment.

Cancellations—If you ever need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you please call us to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance, so we can see another patient during your original appointment slot.

Billing and Insurance—Borgess Spine participates with many health plans, and will handle your billing and insurance filing. While your primary insurance will be filed automatically, you will be expected to pay any additional charges—including co-pays—at the time of your visit. If you’re unable to pay in full or have questions, please call one of our billing specialists at 269.552.2810 or 800.632.2257.

Patient records— Upon your written request, we will gladly forward your medical records to another physician or health care facility.

Prescriptions—Prescription drugs must be managed carefully. As a result, we will prescribe and refill medications only during our regular business hours. If you are calling for a prescription refill, allow 72 hours for the refill to be completed. Please plan accordingly.
